This complete LR078650 compressor unit with housing (LR044027, LR044026), relay YWB500220 and the hose set is suitable for direct compressor replacement on the Land Rover SPORT (L320), as well as switching from the Hitachi LR072537 version to the AMK A2870 version.

Since 2003, Miessler Automotive® has been supplying air suspension spare parts for cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles.
Based on this long experience, Miessler Automotive® developed this compressor with a significantly better technical performance range.
This premium product is produced in accordance with the requirements of the new quality management in the automotive industry IATF-16949 (formerly ISO/TS 16949:2009).

There are two types of compressors for the Discovery 3/4 and RR Sport. This is the improved AMK version. This is a complete kit including compressor, pipes, hoses, fittings, air lines, gaskets, bracket, relay and new cover/housing. If you upgrade to this kit, your ECU will need to be reprogrammed.

This compressor replaces the previous Hitachi model.

Air suspension compressor, suitable for all Land Rover Sport models.
Land Rover published a technical bulletin (LTB00331) in October 2010.
This means that if a new air suspension compressor is installed, the corresponding relay must be replaced at the same time.
You will receive the relay with this compressor.

This is the latest version of the compressor.
If you are using this more powerful and robust compressor (AMK) instead of the Hitachi compressor, you will need to have the software updated by your local dealer.
Please refer to Land Rover Technical Bulletin LTB00420 which describes the software change.

Before purchasing a compressor, please consider the following:
The main reason a compressor fails is because there is a leak in the system.
This causes the compressor to run for too long. This will cause the compressor to burn out.
The most common cause of a leak in the system is an old leaky air spring/shock absorber.
The compressor warranty will be void if this error persists

Our technical advice for air supply:
1. An increased running noise of the compressor is often caused by the suspension of the compressor no longer functioning.
Be sure to also change the suspension rubbers and springs.
2. A porous intake hose is often the cause of compressor failure.
Change this and, ideally, the filter/noise damper at the same time.
We don't want the new compressor to fail prematurely for this reason.
3. Change the working relay before installing the compressor, even if it still appears to be functional.
This is also a mandatory requirement of the car manufacturer.
Make sure you are changing the correct relay. Relays are similar. There is a great risk of replacing the wrong relay.
4. After the repair, make sure that the system is absolutely tight.
The easiest way to determine this is to park the vehicle and wait for the system to automatically adjust (if your vehicle has this feature). Accurately measure and note all heights that are air-assisted, from the ground to the bottom edge of the fender. The next day check and compare these heights.
Even a small deviation in the distances leads to long-term damage to the compressor and the valves.

If you have been driving for some time with a leaky undercarriage, it can be assumed that the compressor is running more often than normal. This increased number of on and off cycles may have already damaged the compressor. Depending on how long this condition has lasted, you should change the relay as a precaution and check the compressor's performance. After the car has been parked overnight, a compressor should not run for more than 20 to 30 seconds until the system is ready to start again.

Before purchasing a compressor, please note the following:
Most common reasons for a defective compressor is a leak in the System and also a defective relay.
An excessive number of switch-on cycles will cause the relay contacts to stick together.
The result is continuous current on the compressor.
The compressor runs continuously without control until it burns out.

Another main reason why the compressor stops working is moisture inside the compressor.
This happens insidiously via leaks such as:
- Porous or damaged air springs or air spring parts (strut)
- Worn seals, defective compressed air connections and chafed compressed air hoses
- Leaking housings in components such as compressors, valves, air springs or struts.

Every air spring system is vulnerable in this way.
Therefore, follow our advice to avoid any further repairs in the near future.

Before a new compressor is installed, all the reasons why it has been damaged must be completely eliminated.

Our technical advise for the air supply device:
1. Change the relay before installing the compressor even if it seems to still work.
This is also a specification by the car manufacturer. Be sure to change the right relays.
Relays look similar, that is why there is a risk to change the wrong relays.
2. Be sure to check whether the system is leakproof after repairing.
The easiest way to do this is to park the vehicle. Wait for the system to automatically re-adjust if your car has this feature.
Then measure the heights from the ground to the lower edge of the fender as exactly as possible and take notes.
On the day after measure these heights again and compare them with the ones before.
Even a small difference will lead to a damaged compressor and damaged valves in the long run.

When driving with a leaking suspension for a long time it needs to be assumed that the compressor is running more often than normal.
The increased number of cycles of powering on and off is likely to already have damaged the compressor.
Depending on the duration of that condition you should change the relay and check the performance of the compressor to be on the safe side.
After the vehicle stood overnight the compressor normally doesn't need to run more than 20 to 30 seconds for the system to be ready to start.
